Trapping The Armadillo Is The Only Proven Method That Works

There are no such thing as using mothballs (which is illegal read the box) or other magic sprays or repellents.

There are lots of Mole & Gopher Traps On The Market And We Only Use The Best!

We know how to trap, remove problem wildlife . We are professional trappers and can remove any problem wildlife including armadillos, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, moles and gophers. Call us today for an inspection and estimate.

It is spring again and one thing that happens every year is that the wildlife begin grubbing in your lawns . Armadillos , feral hogs, skunks, and raccoons account for the majority of the turf and lawn damage in our area. But it would be unfair not to also include the many migratory birds we also have in the area doing a fair share of the damage as well. All of these species are capable of leaving of either leaving large divots in your yard or worse yet complete damage and destruction to your lawn.

The grub worm is not exactly a worm, like your friend, the earthworm. Grub worms are basically beetle larvae, or the babies of those beetles. Unlike earthworms that fertilize your soil to make your plants and flowers healthy, grub worms ruin them by munching on the roots of your plants, flowers, and grass in your lawn or garden.

Lets Talks A Little About Grubs

For starters from a trappers perspective, grubs in your lawn results in a ready food supply for the wildlife birds, armadillos, skunks and raccoons love grubs . If the local wildlife discover you have a ready food supply for them in your lawn you will have lawn damage and the only way to stop the damage is to have them trapped out first then think about a regular lawn treatment plan that includes fertilizer and pesticides rated to leech into your soil and stay and kill grubs or beetle larvae.

Healthy lawn can handle a few grub worms in your soil and will do little or almost no apparent damage. After the eggs of the beetle hatch and turn into larvae, they tunnel underground and start eating roots they see.

However, when there are more than 15 to 20 grub worms per square foot in your garden, then that is a real problem. You surely will notice that you have a grub worm problem when the condition of your lawn or garden radically deteriorates. So it is important to remove the problem causing animal then follow up with a good lawn treatment plan.

The Southeastern Pocket Gopher, Geomys pinetis floridanus, is found in areas of sandy soil from central Florida northward. It is light or reddish brown with a tan or buff underside. Its 3-3.5″-long tail is hairless. It reaches a length of 9-12″ overall. Predators include snakes (pine snakes in particular), weasels, and sometimes owls, hawks, falcons, cats, dogs, skunks, and foxes.

The pocket gopher also goes locally by other names ;the “salamander” and “sandy mounder”, it lives underground in a extensive network of tunnels which can be up to 500 feet long. As it digs, it pushes the soil to the surface, creating a row of sand mounds. It eats roots, tubers, especially those of Bahia grass, and bulbs.

The pocket gopher is solitary except during the breeding seasons in February or March and June or July. Pocket gopher litters contain 1-3 young which leave when they are 6 weeks old. So anyone can expect an increase in activity as the nursing mother requires more nourishment to nurse her young and then the young leaving the nest and searching for their own little plot of land area to destroy the roots of grass and garden bulbs.
